BrightCore

Beginning of BrightCore idea goes to the end of 1999. That was the year when Open Building Automation Systems start in Elma Kurtalj ltd. Elma is still today one of the pioneers in deploying unconditionally Open System (LonWorks, Modbus) automation building infrastructure in Croatia.  Company team successful automated, based on an open automation system paradigm, facilities like data centers with  more than 20 equipment manufacturers spread over various protocols alltogether more than 1000 devices, as well  buildings sized up to 300000ft2 with up to 2000 devices, integrated in a single LonWorks network.

Having problems like "we do not support this and that" from various manufactures six years ago initiated development of BrightCore framework, which was awarded with LonMark's international software product of the year award last year at LONCOM2009.

The base for that development and achievement was the LonWorks software stack, which could transform any IP device with Operating System to IP LonWorks device commissionable in standard LonWorks commissioning tool (LonMaker). The stack is developed in Elma and currently works at both platforms Windows and Linux, from small DIN rail embedded devices to big 19” rack servers.

After LonWorks we added ModbusTCP and BACnetIP. Other protocols will follow. What will stay the same is absolutely open system approach, and native accesses to particular control network. Our vision is to have a platform which could work with products from any standard vendor, on a native way!

Today we can say that we natively support LonWorks, Modbus, and BACnet!
